Prayer Vigil

I felt I wanted to respond in some tangible way to the situation in the Middle East. In 2001 I visited Northern Gaza. I met such lovely welcoming people, spent time visiting people in their homes, and visiting projects supported by Christian Aid. We heard from local people about how their lives were impacted by restrictions and occupation. We promised to tell their stories on our return, and we did, because they wanted people to know. Things have got so much worse over these last 20 years.

I put this prayer vigil together a few weeks ago, using resources from Christian Aid and Embrace the Middle East and hosted an online vigil; a few of us gathered on zoom to prayer these prayers together. It would be great if you felt you could use it, so please feel free to – on your own, with others, in your church. You can find it on YouTube here. There’s no sound, so you can add your own, or use some of the Taize songs suggested.
